After the successful first edition of the tournament in 2024, Masterpiece returns with its second edition, which will take place on May 17 and 18, 2025, in Labin and Rabac. This international disc golf tournament is organized by Lagoda Disc Golf and the travel agency Vall Tours, with support from local partners such as the Atlas Rabac travel agency, the Labin - Rabac Tourist Board, and the Dubrova Sculpture Park. Approximately seventy players from ten countries are expected to participate.
The official accommodation for the tournament is at the Sanfior Hotel, located directly on the Adriatic coast, less than a 15-minute drive from the course. Thanks to the tournament's timing, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy swimming in the sea, which is usually possible in the latter half of May.
The tournament's uniqueness lies in its location at the Dubrova Sculpture Park, where players can enjoy a combination of sports and art, creating an unforgettable experience for participants and visitors. The tournament provides an excellent opportunity to promote disc golf while showcasing the natural and cultural beauty of the area.

The Game
The competition will be conducted in the following format:
Round | Group Formation |
---|---|
1 | Groups will be formed with mixed categories and skill levels determined by PDGA ratings. We will strive to ensure that players from the same clubs or countries are not placed in the same groups during the first round, promoting interaction with new players. |
2 | Groups will be formed based on Round 1 results, with mixed categories. |
3 | Groups will be formed based on Round 2 results, without mixing categories. |
In the first round, all groups are expected to have a maximum of 4 players. In the 2nd and 3rd rounds, some groups may contain 5 players (for players rated above 900), others 4, and some 3 (for players rated below 750) to maintain a balanced pace and ensure rounds last approximately the same for all players.
The Course
The course for the Masterpiece tournament is located within the unique setting of the Dubrova Sculpture Park. Most of the holes traverse open spaces with occasional trees, making it accessible for beginners and children. The proximity to sculptures, created as part of the sculpture symposium, adds a special charm to the course, as the layout carefully winds around these art pieces. The course features technical challenges, such as basket positions and tee layouts requiring precise throws, and also includes varied elevations with uphill and downhill holes. This combination of openness and technical details makes the course both interesting and challenging for players of all levels.
The 18-hole course is set within the Dubrova Sculpture Park (Google location), with the layout expected to be similar to the 2024 tournament, with minor adjustments.
The course map and Caddie Book from the 2024 tournament can be downloaded in PDF format from this page.
The course map and Caddie Book for the 2025 edition will be available in April.
Baskets used for the event will be Disc Golf Park targets.
Tees will feature artificial grass turf.
This layout was previously used only once, with 11 players rated above 900 and 7 female players rated above 800 participating. A total of 43 players competed in that event.
The best male score on the course is -10 (47, rating 1,006), achieved by Marijan Krištofic and Tomislav Goricki. The second-best score is -9 (48, 994 rating), achieved by Zack Bevelacqua, while the third-best score is -8 (47, rating 983), also achieved twice by Zack.
The best female score is -2 (55, rating 914), achieved by Andreja Bernjak. The second-best score is -1 (56, rating 903), achieved twice by Barbara Poljšak, and the third is +1 (58, rating 880), achieved by Danica Pajtak and Ira Molnar Goricki.

Side Activities
Ace Pool
All players who wish to participate can pay €1 in cash to a special fund. A player who wants to join the Ace Pool must make the payment before the first round starts. If a player hits an ace but did not pay into the Ace Pool beforehand, they are not eligible for the reward.
A player who hits an ace during the tournament wins the entire Ace Pool prize. If two or more players hit an ace, the prize is divided among them.
If no aces are hit, the Ace Pool rolls over to the next Lagoda tournament up to a maximum of €100. Any amount exceeding €100 is allocated to disc golf course improvements and development funds.
This fund is collected at all tournaments organized by Lagoda Disc Golf, and the current total will be announced before the tournament.
CTP – Closest to the Pin
The CTP competition runs during all three rounds on two designated holes. The player whose disc lands closest to the basket wins.
A measuring tape will be available near the basket, and the player closest to the basket can measure the distance and report it in the official tournament WhatsApp group.
The closest result under 3 meters (approximately 10 feet) qualifies for the CTP final. Six players will qualify based on their results - two in each round.
If a player wins CTP multiple times, they will receive additional throws in the final.
The final takes place on Sunday after the third round, with six players each throwing two discs. The best three results advance to the final showdown. The player with the closest disc in the final round wins.
Overachiever
This award goes to the player who performs the best relative to their PDGA rating.
All players with an active PDGA membership and at least 20 rated rounds are eligible.
