Instructions for playing disc golf games at holiday homes
1. Set up the course
If the distance markers are not set up, they need to be placed to mark distances of 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 meters from the basket (unless the game has different rules and notes)
2. Choose a game
You can play one of the simple games or games that have web applications and a defined scoring system.
Below are the rules for a few simple games:
Who will hit 10 faster (unlimited number of players)
The player takes 10 discs and stands at the 5-meter mark (or any other distance). Another player (using a watch or phone) measures the time it takes for player A to throw all 10 discs into the basket.
When player A has thrown all 10 discs, if there are discs that have not hit the target, they quickly run to retrieve the discs outside the basket, return to the 5-meter mark, and throw them again. The game continues until all 10 discs are in the basket. Once a disc is in the basket, it is not removed.
The winner is the player who throws all the discs into the basket in the shortest time.
Hit as many as possible (unlimited number of players)
The player takes 10 discs and throws them from an agreed distance (e.g., 5 meters). Each hit in the basket earns 1 point. After one player has thrown all 10 discs, the other players do the same.
The winner is the player who hits the most discs.
Who will clear out sooner (2 players)
Each player takes 5 discs and both players stand at the 5-meter mark (or any other distance).
Both players throw 5 discs, with player A throwing the first disc, then player B throwing the first disc, then player A throwing the second disc, and so on.
Discs that are in the basket remain there, and the players go to retrieve the discs outside the basket and throw them again.
If player A hits 3 discs in the first round, then they throw only 2 discs in the second round.
If player B misses all throws in the first round, they throw all 5 discs in the second round.
The game continues until one player throws all 5 discs into the basket. Discs are not removed from the basket, even if they hang in the chains and obstruct the game.
One of the games you can play via web applications is, for example, the Disc Golf Training Game, and if you search the internet with the term “disc golf putting game,” you will likely find other options.
Disc Golf Training Game (each player for themselves)
Open the website www.discgolf.training
Click on “Sign in” and create a profile (you can link it with a Google or Facebook profile)
Once logged into the game, choose the “Trainings” menu
Select the game “C1 putting”
The game consists of 20 rounds in which you throw 5 discs each, meaning the player will throw about 100 discs, and the game will last about 20 minutes.
The game starts by throwing 5 discs from the 10-meter mark. After throwing all discs, enter the number of hits in the app, which will then instruct you on the distance for the next 5 throws.
Find the full rules of this game in the “Rules” section, in English.
On the same website, you can play other games such as C2 putting, Fallout, Three putt, etc.
