Jingle Hills 2024

Jingle Hills is a two-day tournament that will take place over the weekend of December 7th and 8th in Sveti Martin Spa. The tournament will also serve as the 9th and final round of the Croatian Disc Golf League for the 2024 season.
This event offers all participants the opportunity to combine competing on the course where the 2018 European Championship was held with a relaxing stay at the Terme Sveti Martin resort.

This will be the fifth edition of the tournament, and you can read more about previous tournaments at the bottom of the page. At the most recent 4th edition, 46 players from Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia participated.

Format of Play

The competition will be held in the following format:

RoundGroup Formation
1

The groups will be formed with mixed categories and strong groups determined by the PDGA rating.

We will try to avoid putting players from the same clubs or countries in the same group during the first round, encouraging them to socialize with players they do not regularly meet.

2 Groups formed by result, mixed categories
3 Groups formed by result, without mixing categories.

Course

The 18-hole course is set up on a golf course and the surrounding forests, combining shorter, technical wooded holes with open fairways.
Temporary Disc Golf Park target baskets will be used for play.
All tees will be equipped with artificial grass mats.

The course layout will be available on this page before the start of the tournament. Currently, you can download the course map from the 2023 tournament. For 2024, minor changes are planned due to changes on the course (fallen trees) or adjustments to PDGA rules.
The current records are 48 (-10) by Stanislaus Amann (rating 1036), achieved twice at the 2023 tournament, and 60 (+2) by Andreja Bernjak (rating 919) at the 2023 tournament.

Additional Information

Communication with Participants
A WhatsApp group will be created for communication with participants. The link to join will be sent via email. Joining the WhatsApp group is not mandatory, but all announcements (schedule changes, groups for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds, etc.) will be shared exclusively through this group during the tournament.
Participants can use this group to notify us if they are late for a players meeting, check in for the Sunday's 3rd round (so they don't have to come to the Golf House in person), report CTP contest results, or inform if something is lost or found on the course.

Weather
The weather forecast for Toplice Sveti Martin can be tracked on the Yr.no website. In case of bad weather, you can also track the lightning radar or the rainfall radar. Since part of the course is located in an old forest, the tournament may be postponed (or moved to another location) if strong winds are forecast (over 10 m/s) for the safety of the participants.

Food
Participants will have the option to pre-order lunch on Saturday. The list of dishes and prices will be available soon.

Parking
If you're arriving by car, you can park near the Golf House (Google Maps). Please note that the basket for hole 18 is nearby, and there is a risk of players hitting parked cars with their discs.
Recommended parking is located 250m away, near the Terme hotel (Google Maps).
Parking at both locations is free of charge.

Restrooms
Restrooms (WC) are available at the Golf House. Additional restrooms are located in the hotel (side entrance from the forest / hole 1).

Photos
All photos taken during the tournament will be added to the Google Photos Album at the end of each day, and you can download them and use them on social media.

Side Activities

Ace Pool
All players wishing to participate can contribute €1 in cash, which will be placed in a separate pool. The player who hits an ace during the tournament will win the entire Ace Pool. If two or more players hit an ace, they will split the Ace Pool. If no player hits an ace, the pool will roll over to the next Lagoda tournament, and so on until it is awarded.
To participate in the Ace Pool, a player must pay the €1 fee before the first round begins. If a player hits an ace but did not pay the fee in advance, they will not be eligible for the prize.
This pool accumulates at all Lagoda Disc Golf tournaments, but as an ace was hit in the last tournament, there is currently no additional amount in the pool.

CTP – Closest to the Pin
CTP contest will take place throughout all three rounds on two holes, with the best player being the one whose disc lands closest to the basket.
A meter will be placed next to the basket, and players will measure the distance from the pole to their disc. To qualify, the distance must be under 3m, and players should report their result in the official tournament WhatsApp group.
In each round, the player with the best result on two holes will qualify for the CTP finals. Six players will qualify for the final part of the competition. If a player wins CTP multiple times, they will enter the finals with as many discs/throws as they have won.

The CTP final will take place on Sunday after the 3rd round, where the six players will throw two discs each towards the basket, from the ground level of the Golf House towards the course.
The top three results will advance to the second round, where they will throw two discs again. The player with the best result in the second round will be crowned the CTP contest winner.

Overachiever
The Overachiever prize is awarded to the player who performs the best relative to their rating (according to the current ratings on the PDGA website). This contest is free of charge and is open to all participants who have a PDGA number, an active membership and have at least 20 rounds played in their rating.

Tournament Respect Raffle
The raffle takes place after the tournament, following the Winners ceremony in all categories. The usual main prize in the raffle is a disc golf backpack.

To claim a prize in the raffle, the player must:
1. Be present at the player meeting (when your name is called at the meeting, you must be present)
2. Pay the tournament fee in advance or during the tournament (at the latest before the winners are announced)
3. Play all rounds designated for their category
4. Check in on time if required by the tournament schedule
5. Be present at the winner's ceremony

If a player is drawn in the raffle but has not met all the criteria, they cannot claim the prize, and the next player will be drawn.
A player cannot win the raffle prize at two consecutive tournaments.
